Filing Season News: The IRS has its quirks and can be scary. As we approach the 2024 filing season, the IRS is still working on about a million form 1040 individual returns. Over 90% of them are returns with errors to fix. The remaining are paper returns that the IRS has yet to process. Most taxpayers can get their refund within 21 days. If your refund is taking more than 21 days, let us research this for you.

The IRS has almost another million amended returns, form 1040-X. They claim these returns take 20 weeks to process. Check out the IRS website to get the status of your amended return.

This year the federal and state filing deadline is Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Remember that emailing personal identifying information is a data security risk, as is storing tax documents on your Iphone. Ask us about secured file-sharing portals. DO not text or email personal information
